Treehouse Productions is run by husband and wife team Jon Gracey and Vivienne Egan. From our popular team-building activities to our immersive theatre productions to our legendary house parties, we believe in the power of play to connect everyone to their creativity.

Jon Gracey is a comedian, writer and game designer who creates and hosts our games and writes the plays we produce. He previously appeared in The Beta Males and is a current cast member on No Rolls Barred.

Vivienne Egan is theatre and comedy producer and director, podcaster and marketing specialist. She has previously written and edited theatre and comedy reviews for publications like Time Out Sydney, FringeReview, The F Word and Fringe Guru.

The history of Treehouse Productions

2014 At a conference for digital nomads in Turkey, Jon starts running games of Werewolf, and develops the beginnings of the character of the Ghost Mayor who will later host the popular comedy game show.

2015 Our first collaboration with an immersive dinner theatre version of Werewolf, with 25 players eating stew and singing ballads.

Later that year we created GameFest, a week of interactive gaming, boardgames, a pop-up room escape game and the debut of Bring Them Home, a 25-player co-operative/competitive game of strategy, intrigue, and space exploration.

2017 VAULT Festival saw the debut of Werewolf: Live, its first outing as a comedy show.

That same year, Werewolf: Live was nominated for Best Newcomer at Brighton Fringe Festival.

In August, with help from our colleague Adam Douglas, we hosted Bring Them Home for Shut Up & Sit Down, with Quintin Smith reviewing the show with the immortal pull-quote “As far as my ‘coolest moments in board gaming’ go, this was certainly up there”.

In October, Werewolf: Live featured on the main stage at the 7in7 conference in Barcelona, its first outing as corporate entertainment.

In 2018, after some years away from the Edinburgh Fringe, we decided to return with not one, not two, but three shows, mounting a run of Jon’s debut comedy play - Courtroom Play: A Courtroom Play - at Pleasance, plus a run of Werewolf: Live as an audience participation show at Underbelly, AND a charity special Werewolf at the 400-seat Udderbelly featuring comedians like Daniel Sloss, Stevie Martin, Marcus Brigstocke and Nish Kumar.

The start of 2019 saw our sell-out two-week run of Bring Them Home at VAULT Festival, where we were nominated for the Innovation Award.

Throughout 2019, we worked at developing Werewolf: Live as a comedy game show at VAULT Festival and the Bloomsbury Theatre and had a host of very famous comedians join us on stage, including Mae Martin, London Hughes, Ed Gamble, Rhys Nicholson, Rose Matafeo and many more, bringing the show once again to the Fringe and the Udderbelly with a riotous late night charity event. We also signed a development deal with Avalon Entertainment.

Meanwhile, we ran Bring Them Home for a social enterprise in Sydney and for Google in London, as we realised its huge potential as a team-building and skills-sharpening event for away days, corporate retreats and team building events.

Although 2020 was a blow to our plans to cement Werewolf as a TV show, we managed to pivot quickly into running games online, which we did successfully for a number of happy clients, both teams and groups of friends and family. We also ventured into livestreaming, running Werewolf online weekly throughout most of 2020, as well as debuting Jon’s second play, Ultimatum, which was rehearsed and performed remotely.

In 2021 we continued to expand Werewolf: Live’s reputation as a private event, and also collaborated with Streatham Space Project to develop the show in R&D, which we plan to tour regionally and at Edinburgh Fringe in 2022.
